Centre county Paws

Arboretum

Out of the Cold
PSU
Help maintain and update center county paws facility. Typically, group volunteers will volunteer for a three-hour service day. In order to volunteer with animals directly, group members musts sign up for training classes in advance.
PSU
The Arboretum hosts two major events the Pumpkin Festival and Winter Celebration. Volunteers are critical to the success of these events. They provide behind-the scenes support and also serve the public during the event. Some events-related tasks are labor-intensive, for example, harvesting pumpkins or arranging garden displays. Volunteers are also ambassadors for the Arboretum and engage directly with the public.
PSU
The "Out of the Cold" program provides temporary shelter, meals, and support to the homeless during winter, through local churches and community centers, aiming to offer relief and connect them with longer-term resources.

MESC hosts events frequently, some requiring a number of volunteers. To put this into perspective, MESC recently hosted a blood drive with the American Red Cross where volunteers were required for operational assistance of the blood drive.
UW
